I'm a bit surprised that their May 5th show at the Troubadour is already SOLD OUT before I even heard about it... rude.
TDCC's pop/rock melodies definitely have potential, but their songs are still growing on me. They've got quite a buzz going overseas (touring with Phoenix will do that) - surely won't be long before they establish themselves here in the US as a band worth checking out.

PS, totally NOT digging YouTube's new layout.

Oh Summer, where art thou?
2010 will be the first year in 17 (!!) years where I won't have a summer vacation to look forward to. Or any actual institutionally-dictated vacations for that matter. That is a real downer.
Now that I've been working for almost a year (what the..), weekends have become weekly lotto jackpots. By Thursday, I'm SO ready to check out for two days of painfully short bliss. Thankfully, Daylight Savings has returned some of my life back. I've definitely never been this aware of time change.
And so I turn to delusion.. with the help of some summery, pop music. Blair is a 23 year old singer-songwriter who hails from the New Orleans music scene. Her debut album, Die Young, has some hit or miss songs but these two below are pretty infectious. She's a bit Mirah, with a sprinkle of Jenny Lewis.
